![]() I think the clear trend for me has to do with an experience concept paired with a setting/characters/story I really enjoy. I feel like I should say various Zelda titles/the Zelda franchise in general, but I can't quite define what it is that is so perfectly comfy about those that I feel like I don't need another. I love this fantasy world, and it generally has a version of most archetypes/tropes in it - with a small trickle of more being added with each expac. I've tried a few other MMOs, but I don't think I. The way I play fantasy MMO is through heavy knowledge and involvement with the setting (its histories, cultures, and famous personnages). World of Warcraft & its many expansions: Like Pokemon, this has been a lifelong world I've cared about (albeit, I started this one at the riper old age of 12, more than 15 years ago). (Spin-off titles which are about something different continue to interest me.) And although I'll keep buying the main series releases for a bit yet because I can't bear to not keep up a bit with a hobby I've had since I was 7, I actually think I'm. I'm too involved after 20+ years of Pokemon to be interested in other franchises, really. Pokemon (Main-series type): I don't really need a turn-based monster collecting game anymore. Games I expect to see on this list for people include: OoT, BotW, Skyrim, DOTA or League, Final Fantasy JRPGs. ![]() What games are like that for you? More specifically, what experiences do you "already have a go to game" for, such that you don't really feel compelled to get a new one, because you've already got one? ![]() but mostly, you just use your really good can opener. Maybe once in awhile there's a cool gimmicky one that catches your eye. When you have a really good can opener that still opens cans super well, you're generally not drawn to purchasing a new can opener. You only really know a game is this for you after it's been around for several years, and it's still a favorite. Edit: I feel like this is a patientgamers question because only those who aren't driven to constantly buy the newest games are likely to consider older games as valid forever.
